Is the DS DS3 ULEZ Compliant?
Based on 32,993 MOT tests, around 91% of DS DS3s still on the road are likely to meet London's ULEZ standards, and about 0% are likely to be charged. For the remaining 9%, it depends on the exact Euro standard or month of registration.
The fuel mix matters: tested cars were 72% petrol, 28% diesel. Every petrol DS3 in the data (2015 onwards) is likely to be compliant. Every diesel DS3 in the data (2015 onwards) is likely to be compliant.

How ULEZ rules apply to the DS3
Cars that miss the standard pay £12.50 for each day they're driven in the zone. Petrol and petrol-hybrid cars need Euro 4 (most from 2006), while diesels need Euro 6 (most from September 2015).
- Petrol (72% of DS3s tested): every year in our data is likely to comply.
- Diesel (28% of DS3s tested): every year in our data is likely to comply.
DS3s from 2015 sit on the boundary (9% of those tested): some were built to the required standard before it became compulsory. The Euro standard is sometimes on the V5C logbook, or DS can confirm it. Our ULEZ calculator can help.

Buying a used DS DS3 for London: what the MOT data shows
The DS DS3s in this data were first registered between 2015 and 2021. 2016 was the most common year, with 11,846 tests (36% of the total), and half were registered in 2016 or later.
Every DS3 in the data is from a year likely to comply, so age and condition matter more than ULEZ when choosing one. The newest (2021) passed first time 82% of the time at 17,845 miles on average, and the oldest (2015) passed 60% at 56,546 miles.
On a budget, the oldest diesel DS3s likely to comply are from 2016. 3,998 of them were tested; 2016 cars passed first time 68% of the time and averaged 49,672 miles. Check the Euro standard on the V5C before you buy one from around then.
Whichever year you choose, check the DS3's weak spots. The most common MOT failures were body and structure: "constant velocity boot split or insecure, no longer prevents the ingress of dirt" (5.4% of tests); visibility: "does not clear the windscreen effectively" (4.0%); suspension: "fractured or broken" (3.8%). The most frequent advisory was "in such a condition that it is seriously weakened", on 15.9% of tests.
Overall, 70% of DS3s passed first time, roughly in line with the 71% average for all cars, and they had covered 44,540 miles on average, fewer than the 73,145-mile average.

ULEZ results are estimates from fuel type and year of first registration. Transport for London makes the final decision.
