Is the LEVC TX ULEZ Compliant?
Based on 12,708 MOT tests, around 95% of LEVC TX models still on the road are likely to meet London's ULEZ standards, and about 4% are likely to be charged.
The fuel mix matters: tested cars were 95% hybrid (petrol). Every hybrid (petrol) TX in the data (2018 onwards) is likely to be compliant.

How ULEZ rules apply to the TX
Cars that miss the standard pay £12.50 for each day they're driven in the zone. Petrol and petrol-hybrid cars need Euro 4 (most from 2006), while diesels need Euro 6 (most from September 2015).
- Hybrid (petrol) (95% of TX models tested): every year in our data is likely to comply.
- Diesel (4% of TX models tested): most cars in our data are from years unlikely to comply.

Buying a used LEVC TX for London: what the MOT data shows
The LEVC TX models in this data were first registered between 2003 and 2023. 2019 was the most common year, with 3,870 tests (31% of the total), and half were registered in 2019 or later.
TX models from likely-compliant years passed their MOT first time 89% of the time, at an average of 70,760 miles. Older ones likely to be charged passed 57% of the time with 323,538 miles on average, so a compliant car is usually the more reliable buy as well as the cheaper one to drive in London.
On a budget, the oldest hybrid (petrol) TX models likely to comply are from 2018. 2,024 of them were tested; 2018 cars passed first time 88% of the time and averaged 105,563 miles. Check the Euro standard on the V5C before you buy one from around then.
Whichever year you choose, check the TX's weak spots. The most common MOT failures were visibility: "does not clear the windscreen effectively" (2.0% of tests) and "provides insufficient washer liquid" (1.6%); tyres: "tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm" (1.6%). The most frequent advisory was "tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm", on 10.3% of tests.
Overall, 87% of TX models passed first time, well above the 71% average for all cars, and they had covered 82,244 miles on average, more than the 73,145-mile average.
